Harshit Sharma

Founder, Notex Edtech Services LLP

Harshit Sharma’s entrepreneurial journey is a testament to innovation, resilience, and the power of community support. Born and raised in a modest household, Harshit was an introverted student during his school years, often immersing himself in books and academic pursuits. His academic journey led him to pursue a degree in Political Science at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Main Campus, where he graduated in 2024.

The Genesis of Examopedia

In October 2022, during his time at BHU, Harshit identified a significant gap in the availability of organized study materials for university students. Recognizing the challenges his peers faced in accessing previous year questions (PYQs) and concise notes, he took the initiative to create PDF solutions for his semester exams. With the assistance of his long-time friend, Ashutosh Singh, Harshit distributed these PDFs across official college groups. The response was overwhelmingly positive; faculty members, students, and peers on social media lauded his efforts, expressing gratitude for the valuable resources he provided.

This wave of appreciation ignited a vision in Harshit: to develop a platform dedicated to offering educational content, specifically notes and PYQ solutions, to a broader audience.

Building the Foundation

Determined to bring his vision to life, Harshit embarked on a self-learning journey in website development, utilizing resources like Google and YouTube. His dedication culminated in the registration of the domain Examopedia.co.in, marking the inception of his entrepreneurial venture.

Initially, Harshit considered monetizing the platform through Google AdSense. However, he soon realized that the student population at BHU was limited, which would constrain potential earnings from ad revenue. Adapting to this insight, he pivoted to a subscription-based model. In December 2022, he launched the subscription service targeting 5th-semester students, pricing it at an accessible ₹99. The platform quickly gained traction, generating a commendable ₹15,000 in revenue from this initial cohort.

Expansion and Challenges

Buoyed by the early success, Examopedia expanded its offerings to encompass other colleges, including Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth and Professor Rajendra Singh University (formerly Allahabad State University). The platform’s growth validated Harshit’s vision, but it also introduced new challenges. As the platform’s popularity surged, many students began sharing their own PDF content, which diluted the uniqueness of Examopedia’s offerings. This development prompted Harshit to innovate further to maintain the platform’s relevance and competitive edge.

The Birth of The Book Notes

In response to the evolving educational landscape, Harshit conceptualized The Book Notes (thebooknotes.in), a platform offering comprehensive, chapter-by-chapter summaries and notes across a wide array of subjects, including History, Political Science, Geography, Sociology, Economics, Psychology, and Philosophy. Launched in 2024, The Book Notes aimed to simplify the learning experience for students and aspirants, providing meticulously crafted notes that distilled complex subjects into digestible content.

To consolidate his educational ventures, Harshit established Notex Edtech Services LLP in 2024, bringing both Examopedia and The Book Notes under a single corporate umbrella.

Current Endeavors and Valuation

As of 2024, Notex Edtech Services LLP boasts a valuation exceeding ₹12.75 crore, with The Book Notes contributing significantly to this impressive figure. Beyond his digital platforms, Harshit, in collaboration with his brother Vishwash Sharma, has ventured into admission counseling services for engineering and medical aspirants. Partnering with Santosh Singh, a reputable contractor from Ranchi, they have expanded their services to Ranchi and Patna, aiming to guide students through the complexities of college admissions.

The Pillars of Support

A cornerstone of Harshit’s success has been the unwavering support from his batchmates at BHU. Despite his introverted nature during school years, these peers recognized his potential and consistently encouraged him. Notable among them are Ashutosh Singh, Shweta Vishwakarma, Vartika Srivastava, Naincy Gupta, Rochit Upadhyaya, Aman Awasthi, Yajush Narayan Pandey, Sanskar Shukla, Ayush Kumar Akash, Saumya Sharma, Shubhra Mishra, Srishti Singh, Shashi Bhushan Varma, Himanshu Agrawal, Shashank Singh, and Sakshi Singh. Their belief in his capabilities and their continuous support were instrumental in the growth and success of Examopedia.

Reflecting on the Journey

Today, Harshit Sharma stands as a beacon of entrepreneurial spirit, attributing his achievements to the lessons learned during his time at BHU and the steadfast support of his friends and family. His journey underscores the impact of community, adaptability, and relentless pursuit of one’s vision.
